UXi - User Experience Identity

Forget personal tastes. With our homemade UXi Strategy, every design decision is based on your brand values.

What we do

UXi is our very own, science-based method we use to plan, structure, and communicate our brand-driven design process for digital products. We create your individual UXi, align key journeys with your brand, and optimise for your business goals. Where gaps exist, we extend the system with new components and clearer rules. This is not a rebuild, but a focused upgrade for a fresh, new experience.

UXi Package

With our UXi (User Experience Identity) package, we establish the basis for your brand-driven design language. The UXi is usually created in combination with our Design Vision and consists of three steps: the Semantic Map, the Empirical Knowledge, and the Digital Design Codes. Learn more about each step in our deep dive below.

UXi Evaluation

The COBE UXi evaluation determines the compatibility of the brand and the UX design of a finished digital product. To establish the perfect brand design fit, we conduct qualitative research with a specific target group. This verifies your brand’s quality and identifies potential for optimisation.

UXi Consulting

In COBE UXi consulting, a team of strategy and design experts analyses an existing digital product and evaluates its brand design fit. We document all positive and negative examples and give you practical recommendations for improvement.

Deep dive into details

01

Semantic Map

The Semantic Map lays the foundation for several UX design factors, such as Visual Design, Usability, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Product Design. The purpose is to define a common language to communicate and discuss all design decisions related to your brand. We defined core values that are derived from your company's brand world and are specified for the world of digital services. Following their semantic proximity, each core value is further refined by sub-values.

02

Empirical Knowledge

Empirical Knowledge helps us create the visual representation of your brand’s values. It incorporates mental images, impressions, and memories that we associate with certain values. These associations are shaped through cultural and social patterns. By acknowledging them, we can deduce which visual and conceptual elements convey specific values in the user‘s perception.

03

Digital Design Codes and Don'ts

Digital Design Codes are the visual and conceptual elements we use to communicate your brand’s values through design. They provide a powerful idea of the direction the design is heading towards, and leave a strong impression of what the product may look like. The examples we show are an introduction to the design language we want to speak.

04

Design Vision

After we finish a UXi package, we continue right away with the definition of the actual design language of a specific product. Which is why we create Visual Principles within a Design Vision, defining the content and structure of your product and your brand’s design language.

05

Hedonic Quality

The pragmatic quality has become a "hygiene factor" with high-quality usability and functionality being indispensable. We create relevant and differentiating digital products with brand-driven UX design.
